Parents can have a good understanding of their child's day and what activities are conducted at what time by viewing the daily classroom schedules.
A prepared environment is the basis of imparting an all-rounded education. With that in mind, our curriculum directors have come up with a schedule that incorporates enough variety to challenge a child’s imagination, and yet, demonstrates consistency to foster optimal learning.
Our Daily Schedule consists of an activity packed day for the children. A typical day will consist of a morning academic session which comprises of an AM Circle Time and Sign Language, Montessori lessons, Language Arts activities, Math and Manipulatives, Fine and Large Motor Skills, Outdoor Play, Indoor Socio-Dramatic Play in the Willow Bend Village, followed by lunch and a rest period.
The afternoon academic session comprises of a PM Circle Time including Flannel Stories, Nursery Rhymes, and Spanish, Art and Sensory, Science, Social Studies, Geography, Show and Tell, Cooking, Outdoor Play, Music and Movement, etc.
In addition, the Preschool and Pre-K classes have a Special Activity Program, which includes activities like TotYoga, TotOrigami, Outdoor Learning & Willowberetum, Computer Lab, and TotFrench.
Monthly class parties encourage the children to prepare songs and crafts for their families. This is also a great opportunity for parents to mingle with the teachers and other families.
Each class also prepares a Monthly Calendar, which will include a description of any special activities planned by the room teachers every month, like field trips, library day, music with Ms. Kim, picnic day, movie day, special dress-up days, class parties, theme related cooking and show-and-tell activities.
